Men\’s Addidas Complete Sports Wear, to be issued by Interscholastic, are all designed by the USA Footwear Company, the same team that used the „V” on their logo for the US Mint coins issued on September 17, 2001 under the title „Worldwide Distribution of USA Footwear (Vol. 9)”. Since that time, the V-shaped logo on the footwear has made the most immediate economic impression in the USA. And in 2012, USA Footwear was renamed as well as „the exclusive apparel, footwear and accessories market to be created by American Footwear Co.”

The design change was part of an effort to save the USA Footwear project, which was an ambitious and massive endeavor. The United States Patent Office in November of 1999 asked the International Patent Exemplar of Patent Law, William Jones, to provide a sample of the design changes he made to the suit before the Supreme Court of International Trade decided against the V-shaped logo.

The Court ruled in 1999 that the original logos of the suit are not protected by the Patent, in terms of trademark and copyrights (the original two of these, the „V” and „I” logos in the Patent System, were not patented).

The Supreme Court, on a technical note, ruled on the appeal in August, 2000. The Supreme Court ruled 12-1 in 1998 that the patent did not cover trademark and copyright claims, and that the patent did not cover Men\’s Addidas Complete Sports Wear
